The National Institute for Medical Assistant Advancement (NIMAA) is pleased to announce its approval to operate as a private licensed school in the state of Pennsylvania. This addition brings NIMAA one step closer to providing its innovative eight-month online education program for medical assistants across the United States.
Founded by two community health centers, Community Health Center, Inc. of Connecticut and Salud Family Health Centers of Colorado, NIMAA is designed to increase access to educational opportunities in the communities health centers serve and to address a critical workforce shortage in primary care. NIMAA’s fully accredited, affordable programming offers students hands-on education in local externship clinics and prepares graduates to work in high-performing, team-based practices.
“This is great news for the more than 300 community health center locations in Pennsylvania,” says Judd Mellinger-Blouch, MPA, CPRP, Director of the Pennsylvania Primary Care Career Center at the Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers. “They all need a more reliable way to train and retain medical assistants, which is what NIMAA is all about.”
